Inflation Reduction Act Rebates and Tax Credits

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) offers expanded tax credits to help homeowners save on energy-efficient home improvements. Georgia’s Home Energy Rebates

Georgia’s Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) program makes it more affordable for homeowners to invest in energy-efficient and electrification projects. Designed to lower upfront costs, this program provides income-based rebates at the point of sale, helping homeowners save instantly on qualifying home upgrades.

Rebates cover a wide range of energy-efficient improvements, including:

  • Heat pump HVAC system – Up to $8,000
  • Electrical panel upgrades – Up to $4,000
  • Heat pump water heaters – Up to $1,750
  • Insulation and air sealing – Up to $1,600
  • Electric stoves, ovens, and induction cooktops – Up to $840

Eligibility is based on Area Median Income (AMI), with households below 80% AMI qualifying for rebates covering up to 100% of project costs, while those between 80-150% AMI can receive rebates covering up to 50% of the total cost. Homeowners looking to make multiple upgrades can combine rebates for a maximum of $14,000 in savings.
